Lovely - Rating 5/5
Had a lovely stay here, was able to check in early which was good so we could drop our bags off first before going into the city. Got back around 6.30 so asked if there was any spare tables in the pub for dinner which there was and we both had the amazing burgers, best we have had with fries. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable with some nice touches like a coffee machine, iron, ironing board, fan, and a continental breakfast, cereal, milk, jam, croissants and more. The staff were lovely too from the guy that showed us the room to the bar staff in the evening. There is parking for your room too. Would recommend.š

Great accommodation- Rating 5/5
This is how it should be done!Clean, warm and modern room with an in-room breakfast, tea and coffee making.Excellent heating!Entry is separate to the pub in a quiet residential area. No parking restrictions which is great. An easy stroll in to the city.I was staying on a Tuesday night, and it's quiz night in the pub, so what with food as well, there was no need to search for supper! The best accommodation I've experienced in Norwich over many years.

A one night stopover, last min in Norwich.Great pub with a few rooms, mine was great, comfy bed, cosy room.Happened to coincide with the quiz night at the pub, had a great time. Really friendly, nice food.Be aware that the brekkie is continental only, not a problem for me though.Iād certainly recommend this place.

Great Stay - Rating 5/5
Cannot fault this accommodation; Great stay, great location, great food and friendly, professional staff.Room was spacious, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We travel a lot and this is the first we have stayed in (since Covid) that offers daily room service.Wonderful to see the pub full every evening, live music event well supported and even a pub cat that did the rounds of the tables welcoming customers.Would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation out of the city centre, with an easy walk to all key attractions and historic buildings/sites.

Perfect long weekend in this friendly and cosy inn. Lovely room with everything you could think of. We loved the breakfast hamper which meant we could have some well needed lay-ins!It took us 20 minutes to walk into town but this meant we also had some exercise and there were some interesting independent shops on the way in.Norwich is well worth visiting- got to come backā¦.Last but not least the food in the pubās restaurant- was first class. .. wish it was our local.

We stayed at The Rosebury for a week and loved it! They had great amenities. The room itself was beautiful and a good size (bed was a touch small for us but comfortable). Replenished breakfast basket every morning and even cleaned the room everyday! The location was perfect. Just a 15-20min walk to the City Centre. The pub itself was beautiful and lots to offer. We had initially booked because it as it was one of the only places with parking, but on future visits we will be sure to stay again. Thanks to all the friendly staff. We had the best stay!

From the beginning the staff were very helpful. The room was clean and well furnished. Breakfast was ample to set us up for our day of exploring. The pub itself had a great atmosphere and the food was outstanding. We ate there on both nights. With a 29 minute stroll into town, this was a great place to stay. Would recommend it.

Comfortable accommodation and great location but disappointing breakfast. - Rating 4/5
We loved the location and the Lord Rosebery being a Victorian pub with a long local community history. The room itself was comfortable and spacious and the hosts had ensured there were good facilities with a coffee machine and fridge. However, we felt the continental breakfast was on the lean side and as people who spend their trips walking it was disappointing that all we had on offer was a smallish croissant, fruit juice, yoghurt. We have been to establishments laying on similar breakfast fare where there was a choice of cereal, fruit and access to bread and a toaster. We think this area needs a bit of TLC (maybe a short menu preference form filled in on arrival) as the rest of the deal was good value for money.

Comfortable place to stay - Rating 5/5
The room and en suite were spacious and comfortable. Despite being above a pub,it was quiet (the pub closed at 10 pm). We ate in the pub, the food was very good, good range of beers and wines.Parking is available, fortunately, as onstreet parking would be challenging. Despite our disappointment that we didn't win the pub quiz (every Tuesday night), we would definitely stay here again

Overall very good. Large quiet room, very clean, good vacilities. - Rating 4/5
Traditional pub building nicely presented in a good location. Good food and beer and friendly helpful staff. Included delivered breakfast a nice feature. Offroad carparking. Only minor gripes - very heavy sash windows need servicing and have to be propped open (we used toilet rolls), the loo seat loose and badly needs replacing. Room door bangs everytime front door is opened ( we wedged shut with cardboard). Room preperation and cleanling excellent.

Firstly, the food and ale in the pub downstairs is amazingly good. A limited menu but obviously deliberate so that everything can be of the highest quality. The hake with paella was simply wonderful. The rooms are beautifully furnished. A bit noisy until the pub closed but then very peaceful. Breakfast in the room works very well.

Great stay - Rating 5/5
Everything went smoothly from booking through check in to checking out. Our room was a large double with big bathroom and spotlessly clean (towels etc changed daily). The decor was quirky and a bit shabby chic but that added to the relaxed feel of this property. Down in the pub everyone was very friendly and if you are into pub quizzes then the packed Tuesday night will be right up your street! There is a visiting gastro-pub kitchen on some nights too. The pub is very conveniently located for a walk or bus into the city centre and the street is quiet. There is a basic hamper breakfast and juice provided and coffee pods replenished daily. I always like to leave suggestions and mine would be : maybe add a date to the milk/juice so guests know which to use first and some fruit in the hamper would be good. Consider linking up with the Blue Cafe just around the corner for breakfast offers or discounts for guests - that has full hot breakfast menu for those that prefer also very friendly- could be good for both small businesses! Thank you to everyone- we hope to be back next year!

Lovely room -comfy chair and bed. Appreciate the little touches like picnic basket for breakfast and fridge with water, juice and milk.Wpuld have liked some herbal teas, too, though. Downsides:the windows rattle which woke us up; the water in bathroom is set too hot- We nearly scolded ourselves a couple of times. The room heating was too hot too. We turned it right down but were still too hot. Enjoyed the ambience of the bar downstairs; great beer selection and food.

It worked brilliantly for us as it was within walking distance of the city centre & the venue, had parking for the bike. The person that gave us the key was really friendly & the room was well appointed. It was clean & nicely decorated & warm with tea & coffee making apparatus. There was a small fridge with fresh milk & some items for a continental style breakfast together with a basket with extra breakfast items. I thought it was good value for money & if in the area again would be very happy to stay again.

Comfortable stay.- Rating 4/5
Only stayed one night and would definitely stay again if we needed to visit the area again. The room was decorated in contemporary colours with traditional solid wood furniture and a sleigh style bed. En suite bathroom only had a shower but this wasnāt a problem. There was however quite a lot of black mould around the silicone sealant which isnāt a problembut it doesnāt look attractive. Refreshing the paintwork should be considered. The pub downstairs is very traditional and even on a Thursday evening was busy with locals, always a good sign. The staff were all young and very pleasant and delivered great hospitality. We decided to eat there and thought the food was excellent, especially the crab linguine. If you donāt need to stay in Norwich city centre give this pub a go, you wonāt be disappointed.

A little gem! - Rating 5/5
I stayed at the Rosebery with my husband and brother in law. We were met by a very friendly bar man called James, we did have a laugh together. We were really happy with the accommodation in both rooms. We had a bit of trouble with lack of hot water on the first day, but was ok on the second day. We booked a table for a meal in the evening. The restaurant is a totally different business to the pub, but works so well together. It's good to see them supporting each other, especially during these difficult times. The food was absolutely delicious. It was so good I had the same on the second evening, it was even better! I couldn't recommend highly enough. The staff are all young, but so polite and friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. I have tried to book again but unfortunately fully booked!

Confortable room - Rating 4/5
The Rosebery has rooms above a lively pub, but the room was quiet and everything was provided. The walk in shower was excellent but could do with a grab handle. The breakfast was presented in a wicker hamper with croisents, jam and cereals. The fridge had milk, orange juice and water. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Lovely b&b with a lively pub. - Rating 4/5
Pleasant stay for a few days in a decent sized double room with a large bathroom. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Decent facilities included a desk fan, hairdryer, fridge (especially handy) and coffee pod machine as well as the standard kettle. The continental breakfast was ok but personally iād have liked a cooked breakfast option. The adjacent pub has a great selection of drinks including many real ales and was very busy in the evening (something to bear in mind if you plan to dine there). All the staff we met were friendly and helpful although you donāt really see them in the b&b, mainly the bar. Weād quite happily stay again if we were in the area in the future.

I liked the room and bath a bonus. A number of things need repair, door handle, radiator in main room (this may just be a pin stuck in the TRV), wardrobe door stuck. Breakfast would be so much nicer and fresher if served downstairs in the pub. Pub staff were really kind and helpful for check-in etc.

A great base in Norwich city - Rating 5/5
Originally, we found The Rosebery online, not by recommendation, but have been very happy with the location, the meals, the breakfast arrangements, and also with guaranteed parking space! As we spent three nights there this time, I'm afraid the size of the bed became an issue. I found the bed too narrow and my husband found it too short (the length is limited by the style of the bed). However, for a one or two night stay it should not be an issue, so we will most likely be back! Thanks.

Lovely room in a residential area of Norwich - Rating 4/5
Very helpful with questions about our ETA and parking online. We arrived early and parked in the designated spaces,we were warned earlier that the road was quite narrow leading up to the pub.We then went for a walk into town before signing in.You have to go into the bar area to get your key and the entrance to the rooms is at the side of the building. We had a lovely room with traditional furnishings including a dressing table, double wardrobe, small table by the door and a small cabinet containing hampers with plates and cutlery inside plus cereal, croissants etc for breakfast. There was also a small fridge with water, milk, fruit and butter for your croissant. On top of the cabinet was a kettle, some biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar. The bed was low but very comfy and there were extra pillows and a blanket in the wardrobe. The wardrobe also contained an ironing board, iron, fan and plenty of hangers. The bathroom was a good size with a lovely walk in shower There were also free toiletries. There was a full size hairdryer in the dressing table .There was a large mirror on the wall and one on the dressing table. The room was clean, with lots of nice touches-a real home from home. The pub itself was nice with a small food menu plus check online for quiz nights, singers etc.We had a lovely weekend and it was an easy 20 minute walk into Norwich and we felt safe doing so,although there are plenty of cabs.

My son had a uni interview so we came for a night. We were made to feel very welcome.Everything was in the room that we needed and it was clean and pleasant. Only complaint would be the bed, it was very hard and the mattress was thin. However the breakfast was lovely and we ate in the bar and the food was fantastic. Would stay here again if the bed was more comfortable.

A refreshing alternative to the usual hotelchains our room was well equipped and offered a comfortable stay. Myself and husband stayed for 4 nights. Booked as a trip to visit family. While we did find it expensive, the room was clean, very decent size bathroom and the continental breakfast was plentiful. It's a good 30 minute walk to city centre. Which is why i found expensive and for that price, would expect hot choice of breakfast but it was Convenient for us, as it was 8 minutes away from my sister. Extremely quiet. Almost in a cul de sac area, near rows of houses. It's separate entry from pub(which is also extremely quiet) for us it was convenient and clean, check in was straightforward, we didnt see anyone after that, we didn't stay long in the room as we were visiting.

We stayed for 2 nights. Staff very friendly, room traditional decor, clean and plenty of storage. Bathroom modern and good shower. Continental breakfast left in a mini fridge in the room which suited us for a leisurely start without fuss. Location a good 20 min walk into the centre but the dedicated parking space a bonus. Only negative was there was a cupboard next to our room which housed what appeared to be the hot water tank which constantly hummed, during the night this bothered my wife but not me.

Nice room, nice bathroom, quiet location, nice beer, free parking, unfortunately no meals available on Monday and Tuesday nights, meals also limited to burgers so if staying for several nights then this is not ideal. Limited continental breakfast in the room is OK but it would be better to have a change of cereal choice every day.First floor guest WiFi is poor, it is slow and keeps dropping out, not good for business customers who may need to work online in the evenings such as myself.Sorry but for the above reasons i will not be returning.

Sash windows and doors - please fix banging - its letting your place down. - Rating 4/5
really nice place, well appointed room (room 2) ,lots of walking around space, lovely continental breakfast, quiet fridge (so many places have noisy fridges ! which you end up turning off), good shower(s, good (safe) free parking.few things you need to address.lightbulb dead on chandelier.need table lamp for desk or stonger (6watt LED) lamps for chandelier to brighten up room at night.black out curtain needs refixingBUT - you must sort out soem way to stop the Sash windows form banging in the wind !something was "banging" ALL NIGHT from room below room 2, i thought it was somwone hammering something, fortunatley i wear earplugs when i stay away, but still woke me up at 2.30 am.... on checking my sash windwos it's obviosuly all the sahs windows arouund building are banging from movement in the wind. short term - buy some kind of rubber angled door wedges that you can sldie in between window and window frame to minimise movement - if you want to open the window, just pull our the rubber wedge.i had similar problem with the room door, it rattled (loudly) when someone opended or claosed another door on same floor or the front door....(due to change in air pressure) so i had to wedge it tight shut using a peice of folded cardboardwould i stay again - yes based on quality of room & breakfast, but NO , if i didn;t have ear plugs.......

Very satisfied - Rating 5/5
We were very happy with the immaculately clean and well appointed room. Everything spotless and of high quality. We enjoyed the breakfasts provided, which were simple but adequate, and appreciated the daily replenishments of these, also of bathroom toiletries. Extra thoughtful touches of a cafĆĀ©tiere, teapot, fresh milk, wine glasses and corkscrew. The property was as described, and we could not fault it.

Overnight stay - Rating 4/5
Room of a good standard but very cold . It was an exceptionally cold weekend so maybe the heating could have been adjusted accordingly . The inroom continental breakfast was a good idea and was very good . We had planned to eat at the pub in the evening but had not noticed on the website , which may have been our fault , that food was not available on Sunday evenings.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Lord Rosebery in room 3. The room and ensuite were immaculate, warm, smart and tasteful. The breakfast was excellent. We ate a burger meal in the Pub, shame for them that it was so quiet but all the better for us staying upstairs. This was a good venue for a day in Norwich. Stayed in town longer than expected so missed the Sunday BBQ which was a shame. Comfortable bed and nice breakfast in our room. Enjoyed the beers in the bar as well, especially the 3 thirds on a paddle. Will return. It's was hot so we had the windows open and one customer was loud as he left.

Extremely comfortable and very clean room. Crisp white sheets, fluffy towels and great shower. Well thought out facilities and little extras - bottle opener, wine glasses, fresh milk (I hate UHT), cafetiĆĀØre coffee. Breakfast in the room was very pleasant, although not quite like in the photos on the website. Everything was in packets but it was still a good breakfast. The area was very quiet and I could not hear anything from the pub downstairs.

We stayed at the end of May 2016 for 2 nights. Check-in process was easy. The 2 rooms were clean and were tastefully decorated. Bathroom was clean. A hamper breakfast was provided in the room with orange juice, milk, yoghurt, cereal, fresh fruit, croissant and tea/coffee. Evening meals are provided Thursday - Sunday, we did not get to taste these. The bar area has a warm atmosphere about it and staff were friendly. We happened across the trivia night while we stayed which was great fun. The city centre is about 15mins walk. On site parking & wi-fi provided. We would recommend The Rosebery.

As good as always. - Rating 5/5
We've stayed here several times as it is near to our daughter's flat.As always, the greeting was friendly and the room clean, with all the necessary facilities. On our first night the 'breakfast hamper' contained butter and jam but nothing to put them on! This was obviously an oversight, as on the second night there were croissants along with the cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit and juice. The Rosebery is about a 10 minute walk from the city centre and 20 minutes from the station - we walk along the river, which is very pleasant.Sunday night was quite noisy with the pub customers sitting outside, just below our window, but it went quiet at about 11pm and stayed very quiet all night. As it is in a residential area, there is much less traffic noise than in other hotels we have stayed in, in Norwich. If you come by car, there is a carpark to the rear of the pub where you will have a reserved space. Very handy, as parking spaces are not always easy to find in Norwich!!

Very nice stay at the rosebery! - Rating 4/5
The rooms are located on the same building as the pub with the same name. When we first arrived we were concerned about noise coming from downstairs but the fact there was a pub right next door was not an issue at all. The rooms are perfectly isolated from noise, very nicely decorated and with very modern (newly refurbish bathroom). The only downsides were the lack of water pressure and sometimes hot water in the shower, and the fact that breakfast is not as you would expect, it is basically courtesy coffee and tea, fruit and a croissant to be eaten in the room. Regardless of that we had a really nice stay and we would definetely go back!

Breakfast in the room and the use of a fridge give a great level of flexibility and make your time your own. The pub over which the rooms are situated is also a quality venue with craft beers and an extensive wine and spirit menu. This time we sampled the Sunday lunch and well worth the wait - the food was excellent and so popular there is a need to book. We will definitely be visiting again.

Hidden gem - Rating 4/5
What an amazing find, a large, immaculately clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated room, continental breakfast provided, within very easy reach of city centre with a parking space, what more could you want. The pup below has a lovely atmosphere with an open fire having a great range of gin and ales, the staff were friendly and helpful. We have stayed in the bigger hotelsin the city centre for more than double the price getting a smaller room and no breakfast! We will definitely be staying again.

Excellent accommodation- Rating 5/5
The room was very comfortable. It was very clean & tastefully furnished! The basketbreakfast was a first for us, but surprisingly, we really enjoyed it! We popped into the bar for a quick drink & a bite to eat! The food was good, the bar staff friendly, as were the clientele! There is a strict no noise policy, which I can confirm works because we heard no sound from the bar!

Norwich stay - Rating 4/5
We stayed in one of just 4 rooms at the Lord Rosebury. Although on a main road and above the bar it was very quiet, no disturbance at all. Really comfortable bed with a huge shower and spacious bathroom. Continental breakfast in the room which was amply replenished by the lovely cleaning staff consisting of croissant, jams, cereals, fruit and delicious creamy yogurts. Small fridge with fresh milk, water and butter. Quirky mini picnic baskets housed individual sets of crockery and cutlery. The ale house below served a multitude of real ales and ciders which you could taste in paddles consisting of 1/3 pint which was a great challenge. Various spirits which the very friendly and knowledgeable bar staff served with great attention to detail. Food served only from Thursday to Sunday and was worth waiting for. Cheese portions a little disappointing though. All in all highly recommend this accommodation. Will most definitely be returning.

Booked this based on other reviews and were so pleasantly surprised by all aspects of the rooms and the very cool and well designed spaces. The bar also deserves special mention as the quality of drinks and service was excellent and all in a very welcoming and stylish setting. This is why independent places really can outshine the bigger chains. We will be back.

Very pleasant accommodation - Rating 5/5
Our room (#1) was comfortable, spacious & well-appointed. The provision of the breakfast hamper was a new idea to us and worked well. We were particularly impressed with the quantity of tea & coffee sachets provided and with the availability of a cafetiere & appropriate ground coffee - a great start to the day! The room & bathroom were clean and well looked after for the two days of our stay - towels changed etc. We discovered that the rooms are not directly associated with the pub below so there was no-one available with whom to discuss minor equipment failures - blackout curtain detached from rail, hot water tap completely loose, a couple of failed light bulbs - but none of these detracted from our stay. The pub is an absolute joy and highly recommended for the scope of the ales available, the amazing range of spirits (needs a whole booklet to detail & describe) and the friendliness of the manager & his staff with the genuinely warm atmosphere created.Highly recommended as a base for a visit to Norwich - no more than a 30-minute walk to the Cathedral & other attractions close-by.

Worth a Try - Rating 4/5
Initial shock at the location but once inside my room was excellent. A good size, with a comfortable bed and nice modern tv.There were touches in there that show the owner/manager knows what a guest wants, especially relating to the drinks and breakfast facility. A very good idea to provide the breakfast in the room, and the items were fresh and good quality.Reserved car parking was welcome but it is a shame the pub only served food Thursday to Sunday (I stayed on a Monday)but there was a good place, The Angel, 3 minutes walk away.No noise from the pub or off the street.Would I go back ?Yes, it is good. You would have to pay a lot for a room that size in Norwich

Good value for money - Rating 4/5
We had a lovely weekend in Norwich, staying here. The room was a good size and nicely decorated. Breakfast was okay, the coissants were a little bread like but there was plenty of food.My only area for improvement would be that the room temperature was too high (even with the radiators off) this meant we needed to leave the window open. Not a problem usually except the room is above a pub and was then a bit noisey.Generally a good stay though.

Pleasant welcome.Lovely room and I liked the continental breakfast. Fantastic book with walks around Norwich...very useful.Doors would benefit from having some insulation around frame. When other doors are opened they rattle so the insulation would dampen this. Otherwise very good and will likely return.

Absolutely fabulous. The correspondence from the hosts provided a very warm welcome when we arrived there. We had a few requests which were all met without a hitch. The breakfast hamper was a really good idea as it gave us a bit of stress free freedom in the morning (always a good thing with toddlers around). It was our first time in the area and the Lord Roseberry was easy to find and in a good location.Lovely decor!Would def stay here again, and would heartily recommend to couples with and without children.

We recently stayed at the Lord Rosebery in Norwich so that I could go to see swallowtail butterflies in the Norfolk Broads.I looked for reasonably priced accommodation and found the Lord Rosebery whilst browsing an accommodation list. This was the location for us.We could walk into the city within about 15 - 20 minutes for shopping and sight seeing and yet its distance from the city made it very affordable for the several days we stayed.A continental breakfast was ample for us too.We were provided daily with fruits, cereals, milk, yoghurts, juice and croissants and tea and coffee were generously supplied for our needs. The owner of the pub welcomed us(and helped us navigate to the Lord Rosebery as we got lost!)She also gave us lots of information about the city and the area in general.A very handy book of city walks was left in the room which we may have made more use of if our time hadn't been spent in the countryside looking for butterflies. If we need to stay in Norwich again we shall surely be staying at the Lord Rosebery if a room is available.

We stayed here for 2 nights last weekend. The rooms were great. The breakfast was continental and left in the room as the pub is being refurbished. That's my only quibble, cold croissants meant that we had to go and get a cooked breakfast elsewhere. The continental breakfast was large and the food in the pub was very, very good. Though the room was above a pub, it was very quiet. The Lord Rosebury, set in a quiet street, is in a reasonable distance to the city center - you can reach the market place within 25 minutes walking or 10 minutes with the bus. Myself and my husband visit Norwich a few times a year as we have family living in Norfolk. We found this wonderful B and B by chance. We decided spur of the moment to stay in Norwich for a night and I have to say of all the places we've stayed Lord Rosebury was the best. Beautifully decorated spacious room, with private entrance, comfy bed, large bathroom with amazing rain shower, plenty of wardrobe space and a great location. We discovered a new part of Norwich with great bars and restaurants we'd never been to before. The highlight of our stay was the wonderful in room breakfast- fresh fruit, nice tea and coffee, fresh croissants, orange juice, proper cereal (not the cheap brands) cute little picnic hampers with proper crockery and cutlery. Excellent value for money. Will definitely stay here again!!

Overall reasonable value for money - Rating 4/5
The situation was exactly right for our trip to visit family in this part of the city. Accommodation was overall good quality. A few issues: the shower-head was not secure and a non-slip surface in the bath would improve things; the bed was a little short for my husband who is 6'4"! We enjoyed the continental breakfast, a change from full English and perfectly adequate when eating out the evening before. Overall, it was reasonable value for money, a little high priced given the continental breakfast. However, we would stay again at The Lord Rosebery.

A warm welcome - Rating 4/5
Having stayed previously in December 2013, we returned on 30 January 2015 to a warm welcome. We had a room with dual aspect to the front and side but no problems with traffic noise or from the pub downstairs. The bed was very comfortable but unfortunately the heating was only lukewarm, the showerhead kept collapsing and the toilet flush did not work properly every time, hence only 4 stars. However, as this is so close to our son and future daughter-in-law, we will be returning to stay on future visits to them.We do not find the lack of a cooked breakfast a problem and enjoy the freedom the continental breakfast in the room gives us.

Loved my stay there. Unusually for a pub it's in the middle of a residential street off a side road. I used to live in Norman road a few hundred metres away and that's the first time I knew about the place! I used to drink at the Whalebone which near the end of Rosebery St. You wont miss it. Norwich is a great place for pubs and beer and the Rosebery has a good selection.I've awarded 4 stars only because access to the rooms are would be difficult for people who have difficulty with stairs. 2 right angles bends etc.

Just returned from our 2nd stay at Lord Rosebery - Rating 5/5
Once again we have enjoyed another stay. The room and bed were comfortable, enjoyed a cooked breakfast at their sister hotel first morning and ate our continental breakfast in our room the second day. However, if you have a massive appetite, you can have both each day! Situated in a quiet area, with good parking at the rear of property, it is close enough for active people to walk into the city centre (about 1 mile). Helps build an appetite for dinner, or alternatively dine in the pub. The menu looks good, although we have not done this yet. We will be returning again!

Brilliant weekend stay! - Rating 4/5
Had the pleasure of staying at the Lord Roseberry for a weekend away. Received a warm welcome on arrival, Rob took his time providing us with all the information we could possibly need and nothing was too much trouble through out our stay. The room was lovely and the breakfast hampers a nice touch. You can also opt for a cooked breakfast down the road at the Blue Boar.

Stayedfor 2 nights with a friend from Switzerland. We enjoyed our stay. Refurbished to high standard, liked the continental breakfast in room. Didn't take advantage of the full English at sister hotel as we wanted to walk into City Centre. Had really nice dinner in the bar, reasonably priced especially for choice & quality.Chef Derick gets top marks Good for parking & surprisingly situated in quiet area. Will be back.

A great B & B! - Rating 5/5
Stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely room, & very welcoming staff and management. Meals in the evening were tremendous quality & very good value. A cooked breakfast in another pub close by were included but the hamper provided each day as an alternative was more than adequate (& probably better for the waistline).Easy to get a bus into town as well, although the walk was, at 25 minutes, easy enough as well. Would not hesitate to recommend the Lord Roseberry.Chris & Lois

1 night stay. - Rating 4/5
Very comfortable with lots of little extras such as fridge with proper milk rather than little plastic things.Continental breakfast left in the room was more than enough which was great for us as we didnt have time to go for the cooked breakfast down the road. Large room and everything you might want, such as a fan. The only negative is that it was a bit dusty and carpet looked like it hadnt been hoovered round the edges for weeks. However saying that, we would stay again and have recommended to others.

Great stay in Norwich! - Rating 5/5
A lovely, spacious room, not really walking distance to the city center, still a great place to stay. The hamper style continentalbreakfast is very good (you can have a cooked breakfast nearby, but we usually don't do full breakfast, so the hamper was perfect!)Parking in the back of the house. The only problem could be a bit of noise, being the rooms above a pub, but we were there on Monday, when the pub is closed, so it was quiet. The girl who welcomed us was very nice and friendly: would stay here again, and would recommend to friends!

The reviews were right ! - Rating 5/5
Booked in for 1 night whilst travelling throughout Norfolk. I was guided to the Lord Rosebery by previous reviews and the fact that on nearly all other dates it was booked solid ! Fully deserves all the praise it gets, extremely comfortable room , quality fittings, excellent shower and en-suite. We had the continental Breakfast provided, the mini fridge hidden in the cupboard is a great touch, with fresh milk and juice in there. We didn't take up the option of the cooked breakfast in their "sister" pub about 2 miles away, although we did eat there on the evening and it was good. friend staff on arrival, can't fault it, would stay again if in the area. May slightly out of the main drag for the Town centre if that's what you are looking for, but not a problem for me as I don't drink so we can use the car. dedicated Car Parking too. Tghanks we loved it !

The Lord Rosebery came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. We liked the restaurant so much we ate there both nights (very reasonably priced and of a quality you don't expect from pub food), the room was comfortable, well appointed and extremely quiet, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We liked being able to make our own breakfast in the room too.

Two nights in Norwich - Rating 4/5
A very comfortable little apartment.Very clean etc. Continental breakfast provided.Staff welcoming and friendly. There weretwo minuses.Firstly the location. While the neighbourhood was quiet and residential it was a good20-25 minute walk into the town centre, and 35-40 to the train station.Secondly, if you wanted a cooked breakfast, which was included in the price, you had to go to another location, two miles away!Free transport to this location should have been an option.Overall, the accommodation was first class and we enjoyed a very restful stay there. However, it would not suit less energetic people unless they could afford totravel everywhere by taxi.

BED AND BREAKFAST - Rating 5/5
When we pulled up and I realised it was a pub,my heart sank, but need not have worried.. The staff greeted us and could not have been more helpful. The whole place gleamed and smelt clean. The room was immaculate and the 'picnic breakfast' hampers adelight. Everything was at hand and the bathroom with power shower was superb. Room not very big, but adequate - a larger bed would have been good, but no more space. Only one thing to fault - healthy options for diabetic/calorie conscious would have been good ie low fat yoghourt and a different choice to sugar rich muffins. We had one dinner, and a 'price included breakfast' at the Blue Boar, the 'sister hotel' and that too was very good. Altogether a great experience, near to beautiful Norwich city centre and we shall be back.

Hidden Gem - Rating 5/5
My partner and I decided to have a weekend away from the office and the children and just to chill out at the bars in Norwich. I found this venue online and due to the price, availability and location I decided to book it.I must admit I was a little dubious due to the price as ĆĀ£60 for a night, in my opinion, was extremely cheap and it was only because of the other fantastic reviews that I decided to give it a go...... VERY GLAD TO HAVE DONE SO!!!Fantastic location, fantastic room and pub and what's more.....FANTASTIC staff. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place and charging what they do they are most definitely selling themselves short as I have paid twice as much and not had the pleasures that this venue provided.... If you had found this place and are considering staying, consider no more and just book it !!!

Happy Campers - Rating 4/5
A wonderful stay, from the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by the cheerful, helpful young barman, to the facilities, through to the 'chambermaid' Kelly. We were in the suite, so loads of room, but even if we were just in the bedroom it would have been quite spacious. The in-room continental breakfast really suited us (perhaps a couple of slices of bread for toast might be nice) but maybe the drive to the other pub for cooked may be discouraging for some. Handy to bus stops if the weather isn't great for the walk to town. All in all, a very enjoyable stay:-)

Slightly apprehensive as the area didn't seem appropriate for a pub. But the room was nicely decorated and extremely clean. The breakfast hamper was a welcome and thoughtful touch. My only criticism would be that the pub doesn't serve food on a Sunday night, but we found another within 10 minutes walk.

Our stay at Lord Roseberry was actually the highlight of our short stay in Norwich. Very friendly and helpful staff, the room was well equipped, nicely furnished and very clean. The choice between having a continental breakfast in our room or having a full English at a nearby B&B was appreciated too. We had dinner twice at the gastropub downstairs and the food was very good. It was great value for money overall and should we return to Norwich we would be happy to stay here again.

Lord Rosebery - Rating 4/5
This was a hidden jewel, more than we expected. The suite was spacious and clean. An easy walking distance to the city cente if you are of moderate health. The pub itself was clean and we would like to eat there next time we visit. Do not forget it is a pub downstairs so expect a little noise until closing time. The staff were efficient and friendly. The bed was comfortable, but that is always a personal preference. There is everything you need for a night out ie: iron/ironing board, hair dryer etc, spare pillows etc. I would recommend this to everyone, although I am not sure if there is disabled access.

Great place to stay! - Rating 5/5
I had an overnight stay in Norwich whilst attending a two-day event at the Sportspark. One of the reasons I picked the Lord Roseberry was because it offered a comprehensive picnic style continental breakfast. Another was because of the free wifi facility which is sometimes chargeable at other hotels. The wifi was simple to log on to and worked very efficiently. I was very surprised to find a lovely assortment of tea and coffee and a small fridge in which there was real fresh milk in a half pint container rather than the little pots you usually get and which are normally limited to two per person.Along with a fruit basket, muffins, croissants, yoghurts, biscuits there was also orange juice and water.Even ground coffee and a cafetier! As a lone female I felt quite safe in my room. The pub below had just started serving evening meals but I did not dine there, however the smells emanating from the kitchen suggested the food would be good. If required you were able to partake of a cooked breakfast at a sister pub a short distance away at no extra cost.As I had a very early start I was more than satisfied to indulge myself with the substantial breakfast provided in the room. I can't find anything to complain about, my only niggle was that after having a really hard 3 hour martial art testing I was looking forward to a long soak in the bath. The shower is, however, a very large rain forest type and very efficient.I would recommend this hotel.

Better Than Average Pub Lodgings - Rating 4/5
Well appointed room and en suite with large walk in shower. Quality mahogany furniture with plenty of storage space - but it does show up the dust! Problems with slow shower drain and toilet seat quickly rectified and voucher to spend at sister pub left by way of apology. Reserved car parking was an essential bonus as pub is situated in a high density residential area - surrounding streets very congested with parked vehicles.Wi-fi available but could be difficult to connect from room 3.Went to bar to query and connected immediately.Pub serves immediate locality and (on Monday) was completely devoid of customers.Did liven up later in the week but noise was not overly excessive, even with room window open.Cooked breakfast not available but option to travel to sister pub if required.Continental breakfast assortment from well stocked hamper with milk/yoghut/orange juice in fridge.Only negative was that croissants were noticeably less fresh as stay progressed.Good value for the money.

5* haven at 2* price - Rating 5/5
Outstanding in every way, the Rosebery's quality of welcome, spacious stylish accommodation, and superb in-room Continental breakfast define it as a Best-in-Norwich contender that punches far above its weight. We've travelled widely for more than 40 years staying in everything from 5* Grand Luxe to small B&Bs so can happily confirm that the standard of customer care, comfort and cleanliness here ranks with the best. The location is fine -- a peaceful residential street of Victorian row-houses less than 2 miles from the city centre -- and the ambiance, perfect: this is a handsome little pub that's quiet, not raucous, friendly, not intimidating, and though our room was above the pub's entrance where folks were sitting outside of an evening, enjoying the late sunshine, we weren't disturbed in any way and were soundly asleep by 10.30pm. We actually stayed there only because our usual Premier Inn was trying to stick us with a bill of ĆĀ£100 plus ĆĀ£17 for 2 x breakfast for an overnight stay, thereby pricing itself clear out of the leisure tourism market into the all-expenses-paid business class only, about as fiscally daft a decision as its owners the giant Whitbread group could ever have made. As our stay at the Rosebery cost around half Premier Inn's blatant gouging, it's fair to say we're indebted to the latter for driving us into the welcoming arms of the former.Congratulations, then, to all concerned with the running of this outstanding little haven. We look forward to returning soon to what now ranks most definitely as Norwich's premier accommodation: a major asset to the city, and a major find for any traveller seeking quality, comfort, and genuine value.

Lovely rooms - Rating 5/5
I booked 2 rooms for one night as my adult son and I attending a family funeral. Both coming from train so was worried about how long taxi took as we were wanting to be on foot later. Even more worried when the place was empty at 3 pm. Late rooms hadnt said check in from 4. BUt it was all fine in end. Staff couldnt have been kinder or more welcoming. Even letting us stay in rooms slightly later than normal checkout waiting for lift to funrral. Rooms are gorgeous.I wasnt sure abput hamper breakfast but its actually really nice way to start day and theres lots of it. The pub itself is friendly and lovely. None of that slightly seedy feeling you can get with rooms over pubs .One thing is if not bringing a car have a cab if you are carrying bags. Im in 50s and relatively fit and it took 30 minutes to walk over to the upper st giles end of town. The cathedral and tombland is nearer. Very near to amazing antique and vintage markets on st magdalene if thats your bag. It was a sad visit for us but made much easier by how nice it was. So hope to come again.

Brilliant - Rating 5/5
We have stayed at the Lord Rosebery quite a few times now and it is reasonably priced clean and a lovely place to stay. There are quite a few real ales on tap and friendly bar staff to help you choose between them. Staff are welcoming and helpful and the accommodation is elegant and the bed extremely comfortable. We always have such a lovely time when we visit as it is effortless. The breakfast at the sister pub the Blue Boar is well worth the short trip. I highly recommend you visit as it is simply brilliant.

Lord Rosebery - Rating 5/5
I was looking for a quiet pub with character and good rooms, and found the Lord Rosebery online. I was warmly welcomed and helped with taxis and directions to the place where I was lecturing. The room was lovely, the bathroom very nice indeed with an excellent shower, and the luxury of fresh milk, fresh coffee, fruit, yoghurt and cereal in the room for breakfast was much appreciated. On top of all that, my phone charger (left in the room) was posted the next day, and a kind email sent to letme know. Lovely place to stay, and exemplary hosts. Recommended.

Could not ask for more, even down to small details. Breakfast was great and was waiting for me in my room in the fridge.Would love to visit again . A lovely large, well decorated room with added extra touches like wine glasses and a bottle opener. Friendly welcome when we checked in at the pub, which had tasty ales on tap. The breakfast basket was good for people like us who aren't fond of cooked breakfasts, but the option was there to go to their sister pub for breakfast if we had wanted to.Easy 20 minute walk to the city centre, and we will definitely stay again when next in Norwich.

Quiet and comfortable - Rating 5/5
This is the second time we have stayed here, as it is close to where our daughter lives and is good value for money. Friendly welcome again with apologies that there was no food available in the pub, or anyone on the premises overnight. Emergency contact numbers provided and prominently displayed. The pub is down a residential street away from the main road, so there is no traffic noise, and the pub itself was very quiet on the 4 nights we have stayed there.Delicious breakfast items left in the room, including fresh milk, juice, yogurts and bottled water in a fridge. Also fresh fruit, muffins, biscuits, croissants, butter, cereals and jam and more hot beverage options than I've ever seen in a B&B! There was also the option to visit the sister pub a couple of miles away for a complimentary cooked breakfast, but we didn't feel the need.Plenty of clean towels and free Wifi.Free off road parking - one space per room - but we travelled by train (pleasant 30 minute walk along the river to the station), so didn't use the car park.We want to return here next time we visit Norwich to see our daughter, so I don't want to broadcast the wonder of the place too much, as there are only 4 rooms! :-)

Once up in our room we were very pleased, The room was very clean and had everything we could of wanted. The breakfast in the room was a nice touch especially having milk in the fridge rather than uht. We also took up the offer of a free cooked breakfast at their other pub which was very nice. It was only a short walk to both town and carrow road so we didn't have to drive at all which was good. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again thank you.

I was visiting my old college town while over from the US, and found the Lord Rosebery. The barman (Mark, I think) who greeted me was very friendly and professional. The room was fantastic, with big screen TV and spacious modern bathroom.Breakfast was already in the room when I arrived, and so I had everything I needed.Convenient guest entrance allowed me to come and go as I pleased. The pub below was great, with some great real ales, and the location was pefect for some of my old watering holes around the Magdelan St. area. Free parking in dedicated guest parking spaces. All in all, my stay was perfect.I had a bit of trouble connecting to the free Wifi, but hey, it's a Victorian pub.I need to learn to do without my electronic devices for a day!

My colleague and I made a last minute booking for our trip to Norwich to witness the Gorrilla auction. Having noticed the very good ratings on Trip Adviser I am happy to confirm that they are well deserved. The rooms were very nice, well furnished and every possible need seemed to be catered for. Lovely Room - Rating 4/5
The Lord Rosebery is slightly unusual in that there are no staff overnight, so you receive a 'breakfast basket'. That said, it was a lovely, stylish room, although let down by having just a couple of cheap plastic hangers and low watt lights- bedside lights strong enough to read by please. The breakfast was OK but needs a better choice, marmalade as well as more than one type of jam please. Ditto fruit juice choice. Fabulous looking bathroom, with really nice 'wet-room' style shower but again let down by a very narrow shelf so nowhere to really put stuff. Also heating went off about 08.30 am - we are on holiday - we didn't have to get up early but would prefer a warm bathroom. Nevertheless, overall very good. Thanks

Just a couple of things - Rating 4/5
Such a good hotel, great value, friendly service, well though out layout and good quality furnishings. Great breakfast in the room and a complimentary breakfast at a nearby B&B as well. Fantastic. There were two drawbacks though, which could so easily be sorted out and would improve the experience immensely. We stayed in Room 2 and the bed was far from comfortable and was noisy. Also, it was a rainy night and there was an overflow from the guttering or something similar splashing down onto the concrete below which made sleeping really difficult. A hotel stay is always about how well you sleep and these two points put a damper on what could have been such a very good experience.

Wonderful room (nr 1 ) with charm and well equipped. Might be a bit noisy as adjacent to the pub terrace, but with strict British hours no problem for us. We had some reservations about staying above a pub but we didn't get disturbed by it at all despite there being an event on. The room was nice and spacious with a very comfy bed and lovely big shower. The continental breakfast in the room had a good selection of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, muffins and juice and was very tasty. This b&b does not have a dining room but if you want a cooked real fast you can go to the blue boar inn, 5 minutes drive away but we felt that the continental breakfast was ample. I would definitely stay here again. A lovely gem of a b&b

Arrived at The Lord Rosebery at 8pm with a friendly welcome from the landlady. We were quickly booked in and shown to our room. Everything we needed to know was explained and any questions answered. Our room was very clean and well looked after, there is also a reserved parking space for anyone using the B&B so no worries about finding somewhere to leave your car. The breakfast hamper in the room is good but we used the offer of the free cooked breakfast at The Blue Boar pub which is also owned by the same people. This was about a five minute drive away but well worth it. The walk to Norwich city centre takes about 25 minutes and passes through the Tombland area of the city. There are lots of antique and second hand shops on the way. Will use again when in the Norwich area.

Fabulous holiday - Rating 5/5
We were given a very warm and friendly greeting by the member of staff who welcomed us on our arrival ( Sarah ). We appreciated being given our own keys so we were free to come and go as we pleased also the continental breakfast afforded us the same freedom. The room was well equiped and spacious and clean. Nothing was too much trouble for Sarah who met our every request. I will certainly be very happy to stay again and recommend it to others. One of the best we have ever stayed at, thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lord Rosebery. The room and ensuite were excellent and the continental breakfast also.We were made very welcome. The only comment we would have is that no where on the website does it say that the Lord Rosebery doesn't provide evening meals.

Highly recommended- Rating 5/5
I stayed at The Lord Rosebery for 1 night whilst in Norwich on business. I stay in hotels very frequently on business and this one of the best ones I've encountered. It was easily worth double the going room rate. The reason is that they really understand how to do hospitality and this is a rare thing. There was a warm welcome immediately upon arrival, something highly appreciated by the lone business guest. There was free wifi, the access code for which was clearly provided, rather than the usual 'hunt the WEP code' game. The bed was really comfortable, there was an iron, a really good shower and plenty of food and beverages. This has been put together by someone who really understands what the guest wants. This is such a rarity! Brilliant and highly recommended!

We spotted this hotel on laterooms.com and were not disappointed. From being greeted on our arrival we were treated with utmost courtesy. the room was superb and most comfortable. The bathroom was a treat with all the luxuries. Downstairs was a 21st birthday party but at the stroke of midnight the music ended and we had a peaceful nights sleep. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone

Surprised - Rating 4/5
I have stayed in many chain hotels in the past and tried The Lord Rosebery as a bit of a test, booked online at midday on the day of arrival with no problem.Found the accommodation of a very high standard (4 star). Clean, comfortable and spacious enough. Good spec shower room, no bath, which was fine for me.Continental breakfast in the fridge in the room was fine with all I needed. If you are happy staying in a small hotel with no staff on site overnight (contact number provided for emergencies) then I would recommend this place. I was genuinely surprised as to how good it was.

A fine room for the independent traveller - Rating 5/5
We stayed at the Inn for 2 nights in late May 2013.I arranged in advance to have access to the room early (noon) and that went well.We were pleasantly greater and received all the info we needed. The room was beautifully appointed, comfortable bed, and the bath was beautifully finished.Sparkling clean. We enjoyed the en suite continental breakfast. As travelers who are fairly independent, we greatly enjoyed this stay. However, if you are dependent on regular contact with the hosts for guidance etc, then this would not be a good stop for you.We loved Norwich, and would come back to the Lord Rosebery.

Stayed at the Lord Rosebury for one evening, having booked it through Late Rooms. The room rate was reduced and therefore excellent value. Room was clean, tidy and very nicely presented......loved the 'extra' touches like the muffins, croissants and chilled orange juice in the fridge. Would definitely stay again and also recommend the Rosebury to friends.

We had a really wonderful stay at the Lord Rosebery. The staff went way above and beyond to make everything comfortable and give us some special treats for our anniversary, the room was beautiful, and the breakfast was quite good and nice to have in the room. It was quiet even though located right above the pub. It really was top notch. It is a little bit out of the city centre in a residential area, so you need to be prepared for a bit of walking, taxis, or buses (walk is approximately 40 minutes from the railway station, or 20 minutes from the town centre) if you don't have a car.We had a lovely time and would stay there again.

Single Mature Female - Rating 5/5
I booked a nights accommodation based on the online reviews for The Lord Rosebery and I wasn't disappointed. The room and bathroom are immaculate and great care and attention has been given to providing high quality furnishings.I am female 55+ and was on my own. To check in you have to go into the pub but this was not a problem even on a busy Saturday evening. As soon as I said who I was, I was taken over to a quiet corner, checked in, offered a drink to take upstairs and then shown to my room. The accommodation is above the pub with a completely separate entrance for your use only, outside at the side of the pub. This is brightly lit and completely secure which I was very pleased to find. Sometimes traveling on your own can be daunting. My room overlooked the car park at the rear which is not large but adequate to take all the residents cars. The exit onto the double parked street I managed in my large vehicle so I wouldn't worry, re a comment I saw earlier.During the evening I was aware of a dull background noise and occasional laughing, but nothing to worry about. I had the bathroom window open all the time and no noise from the car park disturbed me at all.I had had a long drive that day and was very pleased to have the full tray of beverages and milk and water in the fridge at my disposal.I was offered a cooked breakfast at the sister hotel but declined it. The hamper provided for the morning was more than adequate. All in all a fantastic nights stay so much better than a faceless chain hotel with dubious cleanliness and poor security! If you need to stay in Norwich I would highly recommend it.

Real Ale City Break - Rating 4/5
We booked the suite, as we were staying for three nights. As well as good sized bedroom and ensuite bathroom, it contained a large lounge and small kitchenette. The bedroom, lounge and kitchenette were all front facing. The decor in the bedroom was not really to my taste as the wood was dark, but it was all new and functional. The bed was comfortable, with good quality linen, there was a fairly large wall mounted TV in the bedroom, a dressing table, a small table and two chairs and wardrobe. A cupboard had a mini fridge (silent) to keep the milk, orange juice etc.. for breakfast cool, there were a couple of hampers containing plates, bowls and cutlery and jars of cereal, croisants, muffins etc.. on top. A tray on top of the cupboard had a kettle, a good supply of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, with cups and glasses, even wine glasses, biscuits and a kettle. The continental breakfast was so well supplied we didn't feel the need to drive to the sister pub to have the cooked breakfast. However as this was included in the price paid, I feel it would have been a nice gesture by the owner to state that anyone not having the cooked breakfast at the other premises, could recieve a credit to be used at the bar downstairs?Although all of the continental breakfast supplied was in the bedroom, I did prepare it all in the kitchen. I wonder if it would be better if it was all left in the kitchen in the suite and the cupboard utilised to house a laptop sized safe? Or a safe would easily fit into the bottom of the wardrobe. The ensuite as well as loo and basin, contained a bath with a shower over, the shower proved to be a bit fiddly, but we found by not having the pressure turned up too much, the shower attachment stayed put and the water stayed in the bath. The facilities and tiling were new and there were plenty of towels, which were replenished every day.The lounge was even nicer than shown in the photos, it was a lovely light room, with another fairly large TV and a arge glass table with four chairs. The kitchenette contained a fridge, another kettle, an electric oven and hob, sink and single drainer. I think there I spotted a sandwich maker in one of the cupboards. There were a good selection of utensils for basic food preperation, including saucepans. We did stay in one evening and bought some convenience foods to heat up, a microwave was not provided, but we used the oven. The radiators are all thermostaticlly controlled, so we could have the rooms as warm or cool as we liked. If we were to stay again I would probably book one of the other rooms as they were at the back, ours were all at the front and as it was weekend there was a fair amount of noise late at night. One evening it went on until midnight, but on others only 11pm. On the Saturday night a band were playing and we could hear the base in our rooms. However once the pub closed the road, a side road, was very quiet and we slept well.Sorry this is so long winded! For the benefit of anyone wanting to stay and worrying, as I did about the lack of food put on by the pub. On the evening we arrived we had a pint downstairs, we'd rushed down as there is a Happy hour on until 7pm, unfortunatley we only found out after we'd ordered, that the ales we'd chosen were not included!! Although they have a good selection of real ales, we felt that the bar of the Lord Rosebery was a bit yuppified, so we moved on to the Duke of Wellington pub, in nearby Waterloo road and were able to order a take away to be delivered to the pub, as they don't serve food and the pub provide plates and cutlery. It was from the Indian nearby, we picked up a menu on our way passed, the food was great and we really enjoyed the selection of ales on offer. The ambiance was also very nice.Norwich has a great selection of real ale pubs, so a great place to stay for anyone who likes a pub crawl.

Excellent - Rating 4/5
Stayed here for 1 night with a colleague whilst on business in the area. As described by other reviewers, the Lord Rosebery is a little hidden gem. We received a very warm welcome from Rob who ensured that we had everything we needed and showed us to our rooms. I must say that I was very impressed with the room which was stylishly decorated and furnished and immaculatley clean. Although the Rosebury did not serve food, Rob directed us to another local establishment just a couple of minutes walk away where we were able to get an evening meal. We returned back to the Rosebery and spent a very pleasant eveing talking to the locals who were also very welcoming and friendly. We awoke the next morning and sampled the fine breakfast hamper supplied which we found more than adequate to get the day off to a good start. If the owners could supply the simplest of bar meals I would have rated the whole experience at 100%. Perhaps this is something that they may consider in future. All in all, a very enjoyable stay and i will certainly stay again when next in the area. Well done to the owners and their team with special mention to Rob.

Very easy to check in (via the pub - takes about 2 minutes) and very easy to check out (just put keys in a letter box - self check out). There is no curfew when main doors get locked so you can come and go as you please. Very convenient if you are out late like us. Rooms are very comfortable and fitted to a very good standard. Clean, quiet, warm - its a hidden gem! Continental breakfast provided in the room will do most people - we opted for the complimentary fried breakfast from The Blue Boar pub - 5 mins drive away. Again, a very good experience and makes the room even better value for money. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

A pleasant surprise! - Rating 5/5
When the satnav directed us up Constitution Hill into Rosebery Road, we began to feel we were in the wrong place! First impressions were a small local pub in a congested residential street, and we wondered if the reviews were genuine. However, having parked in the small private car park, and entered The Lord Rosebery to check in, we were greeted warmly and efficiently. On being shown our room we realised this was a case of not Ć¢ā¬ā¢judging the book by the coverĆ¢ā¬ā¢.The room was comprehensively equipped, with good quality furnishings, and the ensuite facility was better than in many more expensive hotels. The continental breakfast hampers were very good, with the fresh milk and juice in the fridge a nice added touch. We did avail ourselves of the Ć¢ā¬Ėfull EnglishĆ¢ā¬ā¢ at the sister hotel, The Blue Boar, and this was freshly cooked and served by pleasant staff.Having encountered a problem with the room heating on our second night there, we reported it to the management, and received an immediate apology and an explanation following investigation.Having found The Lord Rosebery we would certainly stay there again when visiting Norwich.

We have been visiting Norwich regularly for 18 years and this is the best B and B we have found. The continental breakfast was quite acceptable. I heartily recommend The Lord Rosebery. From the dedicated parking spot, to the warm welcome at check in downstairs in the bar,to the excellent quality of a room with furnishings comparable to a 5* Hotel, with a comfortable bed and private access and key, to the thoughtful touches of a refrigerator and breakfast food hamper, my stay was most enjoyable. Also, the option of a cooked breakfast at a nearby sister pub was a nice touch. I will certainly try the Lord Rosebery again when in Norwich, although I am sure that a reservation will need to be made well in advance as this must be the best value B+B in town.

I should really write how awful this place is so there would always be rooms free, but truthfully you won't find a better hotel for the price in Norwich. Fact.

What a gem! - Rating 5/5
What a wonderful stay my husband and I had with you, everything was of the highest standard and that includes the lovely locals! the room was perfect, the staff were amazing, the entire establishment was spotlessly clean and well maintained with awarm and welcoming atmosphere. The only gripe and its a small one was the lack of evening food, the establishment recommended by yourselves for food was lovely but I would love to see the Rosebery in full swing with that fire going and a nice homemade stew on the menu. All in all my favourite by a mile so far, keep up the good work and thank you for making our stay a pleasurable one!!

To the competition: this is how you do it! - Rating 5/5
I'm an occasional visitor to Norwich and left making arrangements late, so found myself having to look for somewhere to stay, rather than rely on my usual stopping place. The Rosebery's reviews were good, the price was fair and I took pot luck; talk about landing on your feet. This is a set of rooms above a pub in a quiet residential area about 1 mile from the centre of Norwich. The 'receptionist'/barmaid was charming (also very pretty). The room was spacious, clean, and recently - and tastefully - decorated to a very high standard. The bathroom was stylishly tiled throughout and spotless.Breakfast options were either the 'hamper' in the room with cereals and croissants, with milk and orange juice in a fridge, and cafetiere coffee as opposed to the instant you would only ever find in a hotel, or an inclusive cooked breakfast at a nearby venue if preferred, which I didn't have time to sample, so can't comment upon.As an independent business owner, I am only too pleased to recommend this venue. Its owners plainly care about their standards and its numerous positive reviews are certainly justified.

Outstandingly good - Rating 5/5
An exceptional hotel provider. First, as vegans the hotel provided above and beyond our expectations including our request for Almond milk. This is not something that has been matched by other hotels that we stay in. Second the fixture and fittings in the room are high quality. I would think the clothes hooks on the bathroom door are worth more than the door itself! Excellent room facilities. Exstremely comfortable and relaxing. The annex lounge and kitchen were an unexpected luxury and were thoughtfully stocked with games and furnishings. Generally, I regret having to leave a review like this, since the inevitable consequence will be more business for the hotel and therefore less opportunities for us to book againĆ¢ā¬ā which we will certainly do!

Excellent place to stay - Rating 5/5
Very good place to stay - good size room and above average size en suite bathroom with really good walk in shower. Amazing amount of food in the fridge for breakfast -its a nice change to not have the pressure of making sure you are down for breakfast within certain times and can just eat when you like. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom and shower room spotlessly clean. There is a good desk surface for working with a light on it - and lots of sockets in the right places ie beside the bed and the work area.Lots of towels and shampoo, shower gel etc.It is above a pub but it seems a very quiet pub as I never heard any noise from it.If the Lord Rosebery were in the centre of Norwich it would be charging double the price!

Pleasant Room - Rating 4/5
Enjoyed our stay for a couple of nights - the room was not too noisy bearing in mind there is a pub below and the room large comfortable with good bathroom. The option of cooked breakfast locally was the better one - as the room breakfast was a bit limited - and it would be better to avoid strawberry jam with Croixants - Apricot is much better...other than that great!

Great Apartment - Rating 5/5
We had a lovely stay at The Lord Rosebery during August 2012. The apartment is furnished and decorated to a high standard and ability to order food to be delivered to our room when staying with a small child was a real plus. Food was great too. Sofa Bed in Apartment was very comfortable. Would definitely come back if staying in Norwich again.

I spent 1 night here, as their first paying guest, since being refurbished. The room has been very nicely decorated, to a very high standard. Their was ample provision for breakfast left in the fridge. The bar below was well stocked with beers, wines etc.Excellent staff and the locals didnt bite!! Good choice of venue when in the Norwich area. Will use again when on my travels. Highly recommended.
